The annual Academy Spring Showcase celebrates the extraordinary talent and dedication of Houston Ballet Academy students at every level of training.
This special performance features a vibrant mix of repertoire and original works, including Studies by Houston Ballet Artistic Director, Stanton Welch AM. This piece offers a unique glimpse into a dancer’s journey, highlighting the technique, discipline, and passion that define their growth.
This program will also feature Stanton Welch’s Sparrow set to the music of Simon and Garfunkel in all its 60’s glory of drama and energy. And not to be missed excerpts of La Bayadère with its complex beauty and choreography that was last seen on the Company stage in 2017.
With more than 60% of Houston Ballet Company dancers trained at the Academy, this performance is a powerful testament to the future of ballet.
