Development Coordinator

This position requires an organized, self-motivated individual to manage VIP experience, assist with donor communication, and provide administrative support to the Chief Development Officer.   Please note this position requires evening and weekend work to support VIP Experience and for performance duty.

Academy Adult Program Instructor

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Academy Instructor to teach a variety of adult ballet classes, including Beginner Ballet, Intermediate/Advanced Ballet, Introduction to Ballet, and/or Introduction to Pointe. The ideal candidate will inspire and guide students in their dance journey while contributing to the growth and success of Houston Ballet’s Academy Adult Program.

Summer Chaperone -- Resident Advisor

The Summer Chaperones / Dorm Resident Advisors are responsible for ensuring student safety and creating an engaging environment for pre-professional dancers residing at the University of St. Thomas dormitory. Houston Ballet houses 130+ students in this dormitory for the duration of the Summer Intensive Program. Chaperones will move in approximately one week prior to the start of the program and participate in a comprehensive orientation and training with Houston Ballet Academy Staff and partner organizations. Chaperones need to be available for in-person work in Houston from Monday, June 16 – Saturday, July 26, 2025.

IT AV Tech

Part-Time

The Part-time Audio/Visual (AV) Technician reports to the IT Department and is responsible for operating and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment used to conduct rehearsals and events in the center for dance building. Such as subwoofers, audio amplifiers, speakers, TVs, video monitors, and cameras. They are also responsible for conducting quality control analyses, engaging with our company and Academy staff, and overall assistance of the Production and IT team in day-to-day projects.   

 

The work is for Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Outside hours may be required during special events. 

Building Maintenance & Facilities Assistant

Houston Ballet is seeking a proactive and dependable Building Maintenance and Facilities Assistant to join our team. This role will play a key part in maintaining the overall functionality and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a background in building maintenance and facilities management, with hands-on experience in system operations, equipment repair, and general facility upkeep. If you are skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining building systems, have a strong attention to detail, and enjoy problem-solving, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for a Seasonal Sales Associate to help in Houston Ballet retail store. In this role, you will greet customers and provide them with product information or suggestions. Your other tasks involve keeping the sales floor clean, organized, and stocked with inventory. Since this is our busy season, we serve a high number of customers throughout the day. Employees must follow company policy and uphold brand standards at all times. Seasonal hourly salary starts at $15.00/ 40 hours per week.

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for delivering general Marketplace information to callers. 

Our part-time customer service positions pay $15 per hour.

The CSRs use basic office equipment and technology such as telephones, email, and web browsers to perform their duties. The CSRs assume ticket order responsibility and processing of payments during performances and throughout the work week.

Academy Class Monitor

PART-TIME

This is a part-time, in-person position located in downtown Houston, Texas. The position pays $15 per hour.

Academy Class Monitors will help ensure the safety and security of Houston Ballet Academy students at the Center for Dance, located in downtown Houston. Academy Class Monitors will handle COVID-19 screening and implement Academy health and safety procedures.  All Houston Ballet employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Hours for the position range from 15-25 per week, depending on availability.
