Alexandra Garza holds a bachelor’s degree in Dance and a minor in Education from Texas Woman’s University, Denton Texas. During her time there, she trained under Mary Williford Shade, Gladys Keeton, Jordan Fuchs, Sarah Gamblin and Matthew Henley. She also took the opportunity to participate in the University’s Kids Dance Program, which is a series of interactive classes that introduces dance elements to children ages 5 through 10.

Alexandra is a former member of the Texas Woman’s International Dance CompanyHouston Community College’s African Dance and Drum Ensemble as well as Houston Community College’s Contemporary Dance Ensemble. She is also a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and has performed in the Dallas Dance Festival as well as the Texas Dance Improvisational Festival. She earned the opportunity to showcase her choreography at Margo Jones Performance Hall for a production hosted by Texas Woman’s University called Dance Makers. She has also served on the faculty of Keller High School as a student teacher and taught ballet to grades 9-12.

She joined Houston Ballet in 2018 and has recently moved to the education outreach department where she is currently serving as the Administrative Associate of Education & Community Engagement. Her role enquires her to proactively identify the administrative needs of Houston Ballet’s patrons and her team while also teaching dance and dance integration classes to students throughout Houston and the greater Harris County.
