Houston Ballet's Education and Community Engagement department offers a variety of performances and dance classes, most of which are FREE of charge.

EXPOSE

Programs designed for students to experience the art form of dance in a performance or presentation. Expose Programs are available to elementary, middle, and high school students.

Ballet Talks*

Ballet Talks is an interactive experience using video from Houston Ballet productions that teaches students how ballet tells stories without words.

Behind the Scenes*

Ever wonder how a ballet makes it to the stage or how a ballet dancer trains? Take a peak behind the curtain and come see a day in the life at Houston Ballet with our Behind the Scenes and Behind the Scenes - Extended tours.

Guest Speaking*

Houston Ballet professionals from a variety of departments share their experience and career pathways with students.

Graceful Givings*

Each year, Houston Ballet collects dance attire and costumes and distributes them free of charge to partner schools.

Student Matinees

Full length performances by Houston Ballet with live orchestra and interactive intermissions.

Studio Series*

Interactive, educational performances by Houston Ballet II and the Pre-Professional Program at Houston Ballet's Margaret Alkek Williams Center for Dance.

Virtual Field Trips*

Virtual Field Trips are narrated digital lessons that introduce the art of dance to students of all ages.

EDUCATE

Programs in which students participate in dance classes. Educate Programs are available to elementary^, middle, and high schools.

Adapted Dance Off-Site*

Trained ECE staff take existing programs and adapts them to populations with specific needs.

Learning from the Masters*

Professionals in the field of dance teach a series of classes in a variety of genres. This is designed for schools with existing dance programs.

Chance to Dance*^

A series of classical ballet classes held at the Houston Ballet's Margaret Alkek Williams Center for Dance with live musical accompaniment. At the end of each series, all students are evaluated for scholarship potential to the Houston Ballet Academy.

X³: Explore, Extend, Excel!*^

A semester-long series of high-energy movement and music classes with for 3rd-5th graders. This program has live musical accompaniment and is available during the school day on your campus.

INTEGRATE

Programs for teachers and students that approach academic content and Social and Emotional Learning. Integrate Programs are available to elementary, middle, and high schools.

Dance to Learn*

This arts integration program approaches core curriculum from a kinesthetic perspective. Free digital resources are available.

Teacher Workshops*

Trained staff design movement integration for your school or district. Free digital resources available.
